Jordan Sheridan (b. 1989, Northeastern Arkansas) is an installation artist and painter based in South Carolina. She became a mother in 2017 and began pursuing her MFA at the University of South Carolina shortly thereafter. The intersection of early motherhood and graduate study catalyzed a significant shift in her practice, moving from primarily two-dimensional painting into large-scale textile and mixed-media installations.
Sheridan’s studio practice unites painting, sculpture, and installation to examine identity, material threshold, and the layered experience of motherhood. Her immersive textile environments and vibrant paintings explore interconnectedness—between body and land, structure and softness, containment and expansion.
She lives and works in Columbia, South Carolina.
